Deco Procedures

This course is usually not offered as a stand-alone.  Typically offered in conjunction with Helitrox or as remediation for a student needing more guidance on carrying a deco bottle properly.

Planned stagged decompression is not something that sport divers do or have been taught. The TDI Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits. Your TDI Instructor (Mike Poggione) will provide you with valuable information and skills, among the topics covered are

  • Kit set-up
  • Equipment requirements
  • Decompression techniques
  • Decompression breathing gases
  • Gas management
  • Contingency planning
  • Problem solving procedures

Some of the materials you will be using include the TDI Divers Guide to Decompression Procedures, Multi-Deco planning software. US Navy or Buhlmann Air Decompression Tables (made of vinyl for easy in-water use and storage)

Student Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Certified as a TDI Intro to Tec (or equivalent)
  • Certified as an Advanced Diver (or equivalent)
  • Certified as a SDI Deep Diver

Qualifications of Graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in decompression diving activities

without direct supervision provided:

  • The diving activities approximate those of training
  • The areas of activities and environmental conditions approximate those of training

 Technical course prices do not include gas, charter fees or quarry fees.
