If you’ve taken your Open Water Scuba Diver course and are now ready to expand your diving knowledge, then the SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course is for you! Unlock more skills and extend your comfort zone in scuba diving and get access to more dive sites around the world.
The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course is all about advancing your skills. You'll practice navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving and make three other specialty dives (it's like a specialty sampler platter).

This course is intended to introduce you to the specialties selected; not complete comprehension of the chosen specialty. In addition to the SDI Advanced Adventure certification, divers can also earn the SDI Computer Diver certifcation as part of this program.
This course is held at Gilboa Quarry. Quarry entry fees, overnight accommodation and tank refills are not included in the course price.
Who this course is for:
- Any certified open water scuba diver who wishes to expand their diver knowledge and skill set
- Any certified open water scuba diver who would like to advance in dive training
- Any certified open water scuba diver who would like to experience an introduction to SDI specialties
Course Prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18, 12 with parental consent
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent, SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent
- Review and Complete the Medical Questionnaire*

What you can expect to learn:
- An overview of the SDI Deep Diver and SDI Navigation Diver specialties
- Basic insight into three other chosen specialties (Shore, Advanced Buoyancy & Limited Viz) as an introduction to that specific area in diving
- The SDI Computer Diver certifcation

SDI Advanced Adventure Diver minimum requirements:
- Satisfactorily complete the appropriate SDI Advanced Adventure Diver Knowledge Quests with a passing score of 80%, followed by 100% remediation by the Instructor
- Complete all course requirements efficiently
- Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
*Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a medical professional before diving.
Avoid disappointment, download and review the Medical Questionnaire to determine if you will need a physician’s approval to dive before starting your scuba course. Instructors, Divemasters and the staff at Motor City Scuba are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.
