Motor City Scuba encourages Rescue Divers to review their training at least every two years. The International Liaison Community on Resuscitation Guidelines as presented by American Heart Association clearly state that core rescue skills and knowledge decay within 3-12 months after initial training. In additional to the loss of proficiencies at the provider level, the general guidelines for CPR & ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care) change frequently as well.

This course includes the FRTI Oxygen 1st Aid course.  More info about that course here: Oxygen 1st Aid (motorcityscuba.com)

*Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a medical professional before diving.

Avoid disappointment, download and review the Medical Questionnaire to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before starting your scuba course. Instructors, Divemasters and the staff at Motor City Scuba are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.

If you (or your physician) have questions about medical fitness to dive, contact the experts at Divers Alert Network (DAN).
