Trimix Extended Range

Extend and Expand your Diving  

  • The TDI Extended Range course with Motor City Scuba is training and experience to teach a diver to competently handle two decompression bottles for required staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures and oxygen.
  • The TDI Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression.

Trimix Extended Range Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver
  • Certified as a TDI Helitrox Deco Procedures Diver
  • Provide proof of a minimum 100 logged dives
  • Provide proof of a minimum of 10 non-training dives with planned decompression obligation
  • Complete the Medical Questionnaire*
  • Provide proof of dive accident insurance (e.g. DAN Master-level insurance or higher)

Qualifications of Graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, the diver will be able to utlize back-gas containing Trimix (minimum 16% O2) and two deco bottles to a depth of 240 ft.

Course prices do not include gas, charter fees or quarry fees.

*Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a medical professional before diving.

Avoid disappointment, download and review the Medical Questionnaire to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before starting your scuba course. Instructors, Divemasters and the staff at Motor City Scuba are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.
