Terms & Conditions
Cylinders must have all grip tape, added decals, stickers, tank covers, etc., removed prior to service.
High-pressure carbon fiber cylinders are sometimes given to us with the valve/regulator firmly fixed in place with thread lock compound (Loctite). The presence of Loctite cannot be determined prior to attempting valve/regulator removal. No solvent or heat can be used to release the Loctite without compromising the integrity of the carbon fiber. Sometimes, the torque required to break the hold of the Loctite will damage or destroy the cylinder, valve/regulator or attachments like the fill nipple, pressure gauge, etc. Motor City Scuba is not liable for damage that occurs during the removal process.
Motor City Scuba will inspect the regulator-to-cylinder threads (thread that screws into your cylinder) for damage. Motor City Scuba reserves the right to refuse installation of a regulator due to unsafe or damaged threads.
Motor City Scuba will test all cylinders per DOT CFR 49 and CGA requirements. Cylinders that fail DOT CFR 49 test requirements will be condemned in accordance with DOT CFR 49 and CGA requirements. The condemned cylinder and valve/regulator will be returned to the customer. The valve/regulator will not be installed on condemned cylinders.
Motor City Scuba will reinstall the regulator to ASTM torque specifications without thread lock.
Customer may elect NOT to have Motor City Scuba install the regulator. Motor City Scuba recommends that the customer have a qualified technician reinstall the valve/regulator to the cylinder with proper torque.
Motor City Scuba is not responsible for cylinders not claimed and paid for within 30 days
