SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor (OWSDI)

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor (OWSDI) course is designed to teach current Divemasters or Assistant Instructors certified with a recognized dive training organization the skills to effectively function as an open water scuba diver instructor.

This program is divided into two sections, an instructor development course (IDC) and an instructor evaluation course (IEC).

This course is for:

• Divers that wish to share their love for the underwater world with others

With many traditional instructor programs the new instructor is limited to teaching the basic entry level programs. Motor City Scuba offers the Instructor Development Course with additional programs to create an instructor that has more training and experience and is also able to offer more programs beyond the traditional entry level instructor.

  • SDI Deep Instructor Training

  • SDI Drysuit Instructor Training

After successful completion the candidate will be qualified and well-prepared to attend the SDI Instructor Evaluation Course.  The SDI Instructor Evaluation Course is required to become an SDI Open Water Scuba Instructor.  The IE is scheduled to follow all IDCs. Please call or email for details.
